In addition, it provides reports pertaining to the key demographic and socio-economic characteristics of travellers from major source markets, as well as their motivational factors for visiting a destination.

Refers to all the visitors who go through immigration clearance regardless of their length of stay. It excludes:

• All Malaysian citizens arriving by land;
• Returning Singapore citizens residing abroad;
• Non-resident air and sea crew (except for sea crew flying in to join a ship);and
• Air transit and transfer passengers.

Refers to statistics on gazetted hotels which are cessable. The cessability of gazetted hotels is determined by various criteria viz., room size, sales revenue, facilities & services available.
