This section contains information on visitor arrivals into Singapore and their expenditure patterns, and on the performance of Singapore’s hotel industry. In addition, it provides reports pertaining to the key demographic and socio-economic characteristics of travellers from major source markets, as well as their motivational factors for visiting a destination.

Refers to all the visitors who go through immigration clearance regardless of their length of stay. It excludes:
-
All Malaysian citizens arriving by land;

Returning Singapore citizens residing abroad;
-
Non-resident air and sea crew (except for sea crew flying in to join a ship);and
-
Air transit and transfer passengers.
The source of STB's Visitor Arrival Statistics (VAS) is the Disembarkation/ Embarkation (D/E) Card by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.

Refers to statistics on gazetted hotels which are cessable. The cessability of gazetted hotels is determined by various criteria viz., room size, sales revenue, facilities & services available.
