Who We Are
We are responsible for developing the retail and Food & Beverage (F&B) component for tourism performance in line with STBs vision for Tourism 2015. We work closely with a variety of stakeholders ranging from business associations, fashion retail companies, shopping malls, and land developers to dining precincts, restaurants, hawker centres as well as other government agencies in a bid to develop and enable strategic products to flourish and strengthen their tourism appeal.

The division is divided into four teams handling different aspects of work:
Fashion
The team is responsible for developing iconic annual big events such as the Singapore Fashion Festival and Singapore JewelFest. Working closely with mall owners and luxury brands, the team also aims to attract international fashion brands and products to Singapore in a bid to brand Singapore as Asias Fashion Shopping Capital. We also engage in strategic partnerships with the fashion retail industry and other divisions to optimise tourist spending and augment their shopping experience.

Shopping
The shopping team develops the retail landscape and works closely with several strategic partners including the Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA), Baywatch, the Singapore Retailers Association (SRA) and The Association of Shopping Centres (TASC). The team develops new shopping initiatives such as the annual Great Singapore Sale, Late Night Shopping and marketing programmes with the main objective of increase tourist spend and injecting buzz into Singapores night scene.

Orchard Road
This team is tasked to rejuvenate the hardware aspects of Orchard Road and transform it to be one of the worlds greatest shopping streets, creating an experiential attraction for tourists and locals alike. We work in collaboration with ORBA, various Orchard Road mall stakeholders, government agencies and retail associations to ensure that Orchard Road has an enhanced infrastructure that can support a wide range of shopping and dining offerings. Dining
The dining team is responsible for developing uniquely delectable food events; notably the World Gourmet Summit and the Singapore Food Festival. Other scope of work includes market and industry development as well as investment promotion for the F&B sector, as well as creating a Singapore gift cluster.

Our Key Goals
Tourism Shopping & Dining will contribute to Tourism 2015 through three key strategies. These three strategies were formulated in response to the challenges presented by Tourism 2015.
Build Purpose of Visit (POV)
To build Singapores reputation as a Shop & Eat destination to drive more visitors to come as a purpose of visit.
Support Visitor Arrivals (VA)
To support the ability to drive visitors from key markets and segments.
Increase Per Diem Expenditure (PDE)
To increase the expenditure of every visitor on shopping and dining.
